Smart Thermostats in Windsor

Smart Thermostats for Windsor homes

Windsor's homes range from early-1900s brick houses with radiators in Walkerville and the older core to post-war bungalows and newer subdivisions in the east and south ends. In older Windsor homes, thermostat wiring is often a thin two-wire cable from decades ago, sometimes with no common wire available. We run new cable where needed so the smart thermostat has steady power and the system behaves reliably.

What's included

Smart and programmable thermostat installation, wired and set up correctly for furnaces, heat pumps, hybrid systems and humidifiers. Depending on your home and equipment, the work can include:

• Wiring
• Heat pumps and hybrids
• Multi-stage and variable equipment
• Accessories
• Remote sensors
• Setup and walkthrough
• Compatibility.
• Features you'll use.
• Utility programs.

Full details, how the work runs and common questions are on our main smart thermostats page.

Local conditions in Windsor

Windsor's air conditioners log more hours than most in Ontario, and many older homes have water heaters sharing aging chimneys. Regular maintenance and a look at venting whenever equipment changes keep both running safely.

Questions to ask before you hire

Whoever you hire for smart thermostats in Windsor, get clear answers to these before signing:

• Is this thermostat compatible with my equipment?
• Will you add a C-wire rather than use an adapter?
• Will you set up heat pump or hybrid settings?
• Will you show me how to set schedules?

Permits and licensing

Building permits in Windsor are issued by the City of Windsor's Building Services department. Some HVAC work, such as new ductwork in renovations or changes that affect the building structure, may need a permit, while gas appliance installations must be done by a TSSA-registered contractor and electrical work by a licensed electrical contractor. We confirm what applies to your project during planning.
